The management wants to further consolidate the company’s expertise in the manufacturing of lightweight materials and is looking to buy companies in a similar sector. The management in interested in buying a majority stake as well as keeping the management team after acquisition.

The buyer is at the forefront of the production of lightweight materials and has developed over the years a strong know-how in the use of expanded polymers. The company designs and manufactures both semi-finished and finished products which are then used for impact energy management, insulation (both thermal and acoustical) and shock absorption. The company serves several industries such as automotive, construction, civil engineering and packaging. The management is open to consider companies with diverse know-how in lightweight material manufacturing and industry expertise. The key discriminant factor will be the existence of sufficient synergies. The target company’s value chain should synergistically match the buyer’s one, with clear development potentials and benefits extractions. It is imperative that the target company has strong manufacturing operations. The presence of distribution operations will be looked favourably though it is not essential.
